Hayden Davis Rebrands LIBRA Token as Memecoin in Legal Defense
Hayden Davis, creator of the embattled LIBRA token, has pivoted to labeling the project a memecoin in a recent court filing. The strategic rebranding aims to counter a class-action lawsuit led by U.S. private investor Omar Hurlock, who alleges fraudulent activity surrounding LIBRA's February 2025 launch and subsequent crash.
The token briefly soared to $5 after promotion by Argentine President Javier Milei before collapsing to near-zero. Milei has since severed ties with the project, triggering a national anti-corruption investigation. Legal documents reveal Davis denies Hurlock's claims, arguing no evidence exists that the investor purchased tokens directly from developers.
